Bild-Werk Frauenau is a regional and international forum for glass and visual arts, a stage for music and culture, and a place for border-crossing encounters, in the glassmaking village Frauenau in Bavaria, Germany.
In the International Summer Academy courses and in other workshops at Bild-Werk Frauenau, the principal focus is on artistic and creative work with glass, both hot and cold, both traditional and new creative methods, together with all the visual arts. |
An open, interdisciplinary exchange between people, media and materials characterizes Bild-Werk. The Academy attracts artists from many countries of Eastern and Western Europe and the world, and enjoys worldwide renown for its creative exchange, atmosphere and unique artistic profile.

The workshops and studios of Bild-Werk Frauenau are available for rent by individual artists or by groups.

For those hungry for culture and entertainment in the East Bavarian and cross-border region of the Bavarian Forest and Bohemian Forest Bild-Werk Frauenau organizes a year-round program of concerts, cabaret and theater, lecture and discussion events and much more in Gasthaus Gistl in Frauenau.

In many other activities and projects in education and cultural work the Bild-Werk Frauenau aims at transnational, and especially German-Czech exchange, the further development of the cultural heritage of glass, and artistic workshops for people with and without disability
