INFORMATION ON ACADEMY ORGANISATION
Covid-19
We are closely monitoring the developments regarding the pandemic and will inform you about any necessary protective and hygiene measures in time before the start of the course on our website and via our newsletter.
Schedule
During the courses the Bild-Werk studios and workshops are open all day as well as in the evenings. The schedule for each individual course will be set by the course instructor, together with the group. Formal teaching starts from 09:00 and 10:00 and ends between 17:00 and 18:00. All studios remain open at weekends, in the long courses there is usually no formal teaching over the weekend. In some courses a working schedule is necessary for technical reasons.
Hot Glass Courses
In the overall offer of the course, (including demonstrations, well-equipped workplaces for preparation and post-processing, additional activities), the participants can practice with the guidance of the instructors and assistants at the glassmaker pipe and assist each other. For technical reasons fixed times are allocated here. In the 17-day courses, and in the interest of the teaching staff, during the weekends there are no blowing times for participants. Any exceptions are at the discretion of the course leader.
Communication
As far as possible, the academy will be conducted bilingually in German and English. There is always a way of communication.
Accompanying program and social events
In addition to the course work, various related events are offered (e.g. evening illustrated lectures, life drawing, and shared meals). Social get-togethers are also an important part of life at Bild-Werk.
Visits and Open Day
We welcome all visitors on the “Open Door Day” that usually takes place on the second sunday in August.* However, in the interest of participants, visitors at all other times are requested to first contact the office.
For safety reasons, dogs (except therapeutic companion or guide dogs) are not allowed in the Academy buildings.
We ask you not to bring children to the workshops.
* If it will be possible due to the pandemic, this year the opend day will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
